Job summary

We are working with a respected and expanding elderly care provider seeking an ambitious Home Manager to lead a well-established, medium sized character care home in Uxbridge. The home offers nursing, dementia, residential and respite care across three floors, with a planned programme of refurbishment and investment.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to take ownership of an existing service, build on a recent Good CQC rating, strengthen the team and culture, and position the home as the local care home of choice.

Key Responsibilities

• Operationally lead a circa 39-bed character home across nursing, dementia, residential and respite services.
• Recruit, mentor and develop a high-performing staff team, including deputies and heads of department, with a focus on retention and minimal agency use.
• Build on the home's recent Good CQC rating and lead the service towards Outstanding, embedding strong governance and quality assurance frameworks.
• Drive occupancy growth (including the shift from local authority / block beds towards private), financial performance and long-term sustainability.
• Oversee planned refurbishment and operational readiness while maintaining a homely, person-centred environment.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with residents and families, CQC and regulators, local authorities, commissioners, hospitals and community partners.

The Ideal Candidate

• Proven Registered Manager experience in adult social care - ideally 3+ years managing a residential or nursing home of a similar type and size.
• Nurse-qualified (RGN preferred; RMN considered) with strong clinical and operational oversight.
• Successful track record of achieving Good or Outstanding CQC ratings; turnaround or first-inspection leadership experience is advantageous.
• Commercially aware: occupancy growth, budget control, local market positioning and quality-linked financial performance.
• Visible, hands-on, values-led leader who builds, inspires and retains teams, with a high-visibility, approachable style.
• Confident stakeholder manager with the ability to establish a strong local reputation quickly.

Location
