Job summary

SGS-Care-Ltd in Salford is seeking a Registered Manager for a 2-bedded Children's Home. You will lead a small team, oversee budgeting, planning, and regulatory compliance while ensuring high standards of care for children and young people with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties.

Essential: Level 3 in Children's Residential Care; 2+ years in residential care with supervisory experience. Driving licence required.

Qualifications

• Level 3 in Children's Residential Care is essential.
• Level 5 Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare preferred or willingness to enrol within 6 months.
• At least 2 years in residential care of children, including 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and oversee daily operations of the home.
• Manage budget, resources and staff scheduling.
• Provide strong team leadership and supervision.
• Ensure compliance with Quality Standards, SCCIF and childcare legislation.
• Maintain effective communication with children and professionals.

Job description

Job Title: Registered Manager – Children's Services

Location: Salford

Salary: Up to £50,000 per year (DOE), plus an annual quality and commercial bonus from £5,000

Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time

Service: Children's Home (2-bedded, currently one settled young person)

Service Users: Children and young people with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties

Qualifications Required: Level 3 in Children's Residential Care (essential); Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (preferred at point of application, or willingness to enrol within 6 months of starting)

Experience Required: At least 2 years in a role related to residential care of children, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years

Who we are looking for: Someone passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people in care, with a strong understanding of the Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation, and regulatory requirements. You'll be confident in planning, organising, budget control, resource allocation, and team leadership, with efficient spoken and written communication skills and an understanding of the needs of children with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties, including managing challenging behaviour. A full UK driving licence is required.
