Job summary

SGS-Care-Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Residential Registered Manager for a 4-bed children’s home in Lancaster/Slyne. You will lead day-to-day operations, safeguard practice, and drive continuous improvement to ensure child-centered, outcomes-focused care.

Job Title: Residential Registered Manager

Location: Slyne, Lancaster

Salary: £50,000 per annum, with the potential to earn up to £55,000 through bonuses

Working Hours / Shift Pattern: 40 hours per week

Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time

Service: Children's Home

Service Users: Four children aged 8-18 with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties

Qualifications Required: A Leadership and Management qualification, or willingness to work towards one, together with NVQ Level 3 in Caring for Children

Experience Required: Experience of managing staff teams within a residential setting

Who we are looking for

An experienced, ambitious leader ready to take the next step in their residential career.

You will have strong childcare and safeguarding knowledge, including the Children Act 1989, Care Standards Act 2000, and the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards, with the ability to lead safeguarding practice, manage risk, respond to incidents and ensure the home protects and promotes the welfare of children at all times.

You will bring experience of managing staff teams, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead with confidence, professionalism and resilience, alongside a genuine passion for children's homes and a strong commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for children.

As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, safe and nurturing care. You will oversee day-to-day operations, lead staff practice, maintain strong safeguarding arrangements and drive continuous improvement in line with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015. You will provide confident leadership, ensuring care is child-centred, outcomes-focused and responsive to the individual needs of each child, including maintaining robust safeguarding systems, safe staffing arrangements, clear risk assessments and effective multi-agency working. You will support and develop your team through supervision, mentoring and care-focused training.
