Job summary

Sgs-Care-Ltd is recruiting for a Children's Services Registered Manager in Birmingham. You will oversee a two-bedroom children's home, ensuring high standards of care and regulatory compliance.

The role demands planning, budgeting, resource allocation and strong team leadership to support children with emotional and behavioural needs, with an emphasis on safeguarding and effective communication with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• This role requires Level 3 in Children's Residential Care (essential).
• Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (preferred or willingness to enrol within 6 months).
• Minimum 2 years in residential care for children, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role in the last 5 years.
• A full UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and lead the children's home operations.
• Manage budget, resources and staffing to meet care standards.
• Ensure compliance with Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Communicate effectively with children, families and regulators.

Job description

Job Title: Children's Services Registered Manager

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum DOE, plus £5,000 OTE bonus

Working Hours / Shift Pattern: 40 hours per week

Employment Type: Permanent

Service: Children's Home (two-bedroom)

Service Users: Children and young people with EBD (emotional and behavioural difficulties)

Qualifications Required: Level 3 in Children's Residential Care (essential); Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (preferred at point of application, or willingness to enrol within 6 months of starting)

Experience Required: At least 2 years in a position related to residential care of children, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years

Who we are looking for: Someone passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people in care, with a strong understanding of the Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation, and regulatory requirements. You'll be confident in planning, organising, budget control, resource allocation, and team leadership, with effective spoken and written communication skills and knowledge of the needs of children with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties, including managing challenging behaviour. A full UK driving licence is required.
