Job summary

Sgscare is seeking a Children’s Services Registered Manager for a two‑bedroom children’s home in Birmingham. You will lead a small team and ensure high standards of care for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

You will plan, organise, budget, allocate resources and maintain regulatory compliance, quality standards, and safeguarding across the service. Essential: Level 3 in Children's Residential Care; Level 5 Leadership & Management preferred or willingness to enrol within 6

Qualifications

• Level 3 in Children's Residential Care is essential.
• Level 5 Leadership and Management preferred or willingness to enrol within 6 months.
• Minimum 2 years in residential care with 1 year supervising in last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and manage daily operations of the home.
• Control budgets and allocate resources effectively.
• Provide strong team leadership and supervision.
• Ensure compliance with Quality Standards and safeguarding.

£50,000 - £55,000 per annum DOE, plus £5,000 OTE bonus

Working Hours / Shift Pattern:

40 hours per week

Children's Home (two-bedroom)

Service Users:

Children and young people with EBD (emotional and behavioural difficulties)

Qualifications Required:

Level 3 in Children's Residential Care (essential); Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (preferred at point of application, or willingness to enrol within 6 months of starting)

Experience Required:

At least 2 years in a position related to residential care of children, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years

Who we are looking for:

Someone passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people in care, with a strong understanding of the Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation, and regulatory requirements. You'll be confident in planning, organising, budget control, resource allocation, and team leadership, with effective spoken and written communication skills and knowledge of the needs of children with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties, including managing challenging behaviour. A full UK driving licence is required.
