Job summary

Bluebird Care Eastbourne is seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead a high-performing home care service from our Eastbourne office.

You will drive delivery of safe, compassionate and person-centred care, while managing day-to-day operations, compliance and team performance. This leadership role offers on-site hours with on-call duties and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Relevant management experience in home care or adult social care.
• Experience in senior leadership or Registered Manager role.
• Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding and care standards.
• Experience coaching and developing a care team.
• Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.
• Commitment to high-quality, person-centred care.
• Ability to balance operations with quality and compliance.
• Hold a valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
• Level 5 Health & Social Care qualification.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for day-to-day management and performance of the home care service.
• Ensure the service complies with CQC regulations and applicable legislation.
• Provide leadership and support to care and office teams.
• Lead recruitment, induction, supervision, appraisal and development.
• Maintain high standards of care and personalised, safe support.
• Oversee assessments, care plans, reviews and risk assessments.
• Monitor care quality via audits, observations and feedback.
• Investigate safeguarding concerns, incidents, complaints and accidents.
• Identify areas for improvement and implement action plans.
• Maintain compliant records and prepare for CQC inspections.
• Develop relationships with customers, families and external stakeholders.
• Monitor staffing levels, rotas and service delivery.
• Support business development and growth of the service.
• Collaborate with senior management to meet objectives.
• Participate in on-call rota as required.

What You’ll Be Doing

As Registered Manager, you’ll have overall responsibility for the effective management and delivery of the service, ensuring we consistently provide safe, effective, compassionate and high-quality care.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Taking overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and performance of the home care service
• Ensuring the service operates in accordance with CQC regulations, relevant legislation, company policies and best practice
• Providing strong leadership, guidance and support to the care and office teams
• Leading the recruitment, induction, supervision, appraisal and ongoing development of employees
• Maintaining high standards of care delivery and ensuring customers receive personalised, safe and responsive support
• Overseeing assessments, care plans, reviews and risk assessments to ensure they accurately reflect customers' needs and preferences
• Monitoring care quality through regular audits, field observations, supervisions and customer feedback
• Ensuring safeguarding concerns, incidents, complaints and accidents are appropriately investigated, recorded and acted upon
• Working proactively to identify areas for improvement and implementing effective action plans
• Maintaining accurate and compliant records and ensuring the service is prepared for CQC inspections
• Developing positive relationships with customers, their families, care professionals and external stakeholders
• Monitoring staffing levels, rotas and operational requirements to ensure safe and effective service delivery
• Supporting business development and contributing to the continued growth and success of the service
• Working closely with the senior management team to achieve operational, quality and financial objectives
• Participating in the emergency on-call rota as required
