Job summary

Bluebird Care in Eastbourne is seeking an experienced Home Care Manager to lead day-to-day operations, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care. You will guide care and office teams, drive recruitment and staff development, and maintain compliance with CQC regulations.

You will balance strong operational management with a passion for people, quality and continuous improvement, while managing on-call duties and delivering exceptional service outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Proven management experience within the home care or wider adult social care sector.
  • Previous experience in a senior leadership or Registered Manager position.
  • A strong understanding of CQC regulations, legislation.

Responsibilities

  • Taking overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and performance of the home care service.
  • Ensuring the service operates in accordance with CQC regulations, relevant legislation, company policies and best practice.
  • Providing strong leadership, guidance and support to the care and office teams.
  • Leading the recruitment, induction, supervision, appraisal and ongoing development of employees.
  • Maintaining high standards of care delivery and ensuring customers receive personalised, safe and responsive support.
  • Overseeing assessments, care plans, reviews and risk assessments to reflect customers' needs and preferences.
  • Monitoring care quality through regular audits, field observations, supervisions and customer feedback.
  • Ensuring safeguarding concerns, incidents, complaints and accidents are investigated, recorded and acted upon.
  • Working proactively to identify areas for improvement and implementing action plans.
  • Maintaining accurate and compliant records and preparing the service for CQC inspections.
  • Developing positive relationships with customers, their families, care professionals and external stakeholders.
  • Monitoring staffing levels, rotas and operational requirements to ensure safe and effective service delivery.
  • Supporting business development and contributing to growth and success of the service.
  • Collaborating with the senior management team to achieve operational, quality and financial objectives.
  • Participating in the emergency on-call rota as required.

What You'll Be Doing
