Job summary

Bluebird Care Eastbourne & Wealden is seeking an experienced Deputy Care Manager to join our Eastbourne team. You will support service delivery, mentor care staff, and help oversee day-to-day operations to ensure high standards of care.

The role requires leadership in the care sector, a full UK driving licence, and living locally. Working Monday to Friday 8:30am-5pm with on-call duties, you will contribute to continuous improvement and positive outcomes for clients.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in the care sector.
• Full UK Driving licence and own vehicle.
• Currently living locally to Eastbourne.

Responsibilities

• Support the business in recruitment, on-call rota, and cross-department tasks as needed.
• Conduct regular field supervision of care assistants.
• Mentor new care assistants and monitor quality control.
• Complete care plans in line with company policies and care standards.
• Carry out customer assessments prior to commencement of care services as required when the Care Manager is absent.
• Take part in the emergency on-call schedule on a rotational basis.
• Work closely with care coordinators, the care manager, field supervisors, customers, care assistants and external stakeholders.

What You’ll Need:

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Supporting the business in a variety of areas to contribute to its ongoing growth and success, including involvement in recruitment, participation in the on-call rota, and assisting across different departments and tasks as needed
