Job summary

Northern is seeking a Train Presentation Performance Improvement Manager to raise standards and drive performance across the region. You’ll coach teams, analyse performance data and implement practical changes that improve operations.

You’ll lead regional coaches, support onboarding and development, and ensure safety compliance while collaborating with the Regional Manager on people and performance matters.

Qualifications

• Experience of coaching, motivating and influencing people to improve performance.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the confidence to challenge when standards can be better.
• Good IT and communication skills, with the ability to turn information and data into practical improvements.
• Experience of risk assessments and Method of Work Statements.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment and COSHH requirements.
• Flexible approach to working hours, with a willingness to visit teams across day and night shifts, including weekends.
• An A1 Assessor qualification or willingness to work towards this.
• Ability to drive with a full manual licence held for 2 years.
• Willingness to complete railway safety and management training where required.

Responsibilities

• Coaching Train Presentation teams and colleagues to improve performance and deliver consistent standards.
• Identifying trends and opportunities through inspections, audits and performance data, then implementing practical improvements.
• Supporting colleagues through performance improvement, training and development.
• Managing the regional Train Presentation Facilitator and delivering training for new starters.
• Supporting onboarding, training and development of new Team Leaders.
• Ensuring teams have the right processes, technology, information and resources to perform effectively.
• Supporting the Regional Manager with operational, people and performance matters.
• Acting as the regional Safety, Health, Environment and Compliance (SHEC) Champion and maintaining high safety standards.
• Investigating incidents, identifying root causes and preventing recurrence.
