Job summary

Northern is seeking a Train Presentation Performance Improvement Manager to lead regional teams across the North. Based onsite in Newcastle upon Tyne, you’ll coach, develop and drive standards, using inspections and data to identify improvements and turn insights into practical changes that benefit customers on every journey.

You’ll manage the regional Facilitator, train new starters, support Team Leaders, and ensure the right processes, technology and information are in place.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching and developing teams to improve performance.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Good IT and communication skills; able to turn data into improvements.
• Experience with risk assessments and Method of Work Statements.
• Knowledge of COSHH requirements.
• Willingness to visit teams across day and night shifts, including weekends.
• A1 Assessor qualification or willingness to work towards it is essential.
• Full driving licence held for at least 2 years.
• Willing to complete railway safety and management training.

Responsibilities

• Coaching Train Presentation teams to improve performance and deliver standards.
• Identifying trends via inspections, audits and data, implementing improvements.
• Supporting colleagues through performance improvement, training and development.
• Managing the regional Train Presentation Facilitator and delivering training for new starters.
• Supporting onboarding and development of new Team Leaders.
• Ensuring teams have the right processes, technology, information and resources.
• Supporting the Regional Manager with operational, people and performance matters.
• Acting as the regional SHEC Champion and upholding safety and compliance.
• Investigating incidents and identifying root causes to prevent recurrences.
