Job summary

DHL Global Forwarding in Birmingham is seeking a Regional Business Development Manager for Ocean Freight to drive profitability and grow volume through new business wins, while expanding wallet share with existing customers.

You will develop tailored freight solutions, manage relationships across stations, and collaborate with Trade Lane, Inside Sales and Product Management to strengthen the sales pipeline and deliver value for customers and the business.

Qualifications

• Must have strong knowledge of the local freight market, customers and competitors.
• 2–3 years' experience in a competitive selling environment within shipping, freight forwarding or logistics.
• Solid operational knowledge of Ocean and Air freight.
• Understanding of local market, industries, contacts and decision-makers in procurement.
• Excellent communicator with strong commercial sense.

Responsibilities

• Identify and close new business wins in Ocean Freight, expanding share of wallet.
• Work with station management and operations to meet targets and maintain a transparent pipeline.
• Report activity and performance to stakeholders and log opportunities in the CRM.
• Collaborate with Trade Lane, Inside Sales and Business Development teams to strengthen sales efforts.
• Ensure compliance with DHL Code of Conduct and other requirements.
