WR Logistics in Manchester is seeking a Road Freight Business Development Manager to drive growth across key European trade lanes. The role focuses on expanding road freight volumes and building long-term customer relationships.

You will proactively generate new business across European road freight markets, manage a strong sales pipeline, and collaborate with operations to ensure service delivery and margin growth. This is a high-autonomy, revenue-driven position.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in road freight or freight forwarding.
• Strong lead generation and closing profitable deals.
• Solid knowledge of European road freight networks (UK-Benelux, UK-Germany, UK-Ireland).
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently.

Responsibilities

• Generate new business across European road freight markets.
• Drive lead generation through outreach, referrals, and market research.
• Build and manage sales pipeline from prospect to close.
• Develop tailored freight solutions (groupage, LTL, FTL).
• Collaborate with operations and pricing to ensure delivery and margins.
• Maintain a strong commercial presence in assigned trade lanes.
