Job summary

Etex Group in the United Kingdom is seeking an Area Merchant Manager to cover Scotland and the North East. You will build strong relationships with merchant partners, drive sales, and implement strategic initiatives to grow market share across your territory.

You will travel across Scotland and the North East, working with branch teams and internal colleagues to deliver profitable growth. A proven track record in field sales and account management is essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in field-based sales, business development or account management.
• Experience managing customer accounts and developing long-term commercial relationships.
• Strong sales and negotiation skills with a track record of profitable growth.
• Experience using CRM systems and sales reporting tools to manage activity and performance.
• Excellent planning and territory management skills, with the ability to manage your own diary.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships across key merchant accounts, engaging with Branch Managers, Assistant Branch Managers, Internal Sales and External Sales teams.
• Deliver against business plans and support the execution of strategic sales initiatives across the region.
• Conduct regular customer visits, virtual meetings and telephone reviews in line with agreed contact plans.
• Develop and grow existing customer relationships to maximise sales opportunities and strengthen Etex's market position.
• Analyse customer sales performance and identify opportunities for growth, improvement and increased product range penetration.
• Work with customers to develop action plans that address areas of underperformance and unlock commercial opportunities.
• Identify and deliver upselling and cross-selling opportunities across the Etex portfolio.
• Support branch openings, trade days, customer events and sales campaigns.
