Job summary

Randstad's client, a market-leading pioneer in circular construction materials and resource recovery, seeks a Business Development Manager to drive aggregate sales across the South East. Based at Tilbury, you will own the territory, hunt for new business, and build strong relationships with contractors, authorities, and manufacturers, promoting low-carbon IBA aggregates.

• A proven sales track record in the construction industry.
• Outstanding negotiation, closing, and pipeline management skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build confidence at all levels—from on-site contractors to executive decision-makers.
• Independent, proactive, target-driven, and excited by high growth.
• A full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Grow the Pipeline: Identify and win exciting new sales opportunities across construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, asphalt, and precast concrete sectors.
• Manage & Retain: Build long-lasting, trust-based relationships with existing clients (contractors, asphalt producers, precast manufacturers, and local authorities), ensuring top-tier service and repeat business.
• Commercial Negotiation: Secure sales contracts aligned with revenue targets, healthy margins, and smart pricing strategies.
• Technical Advice: Advise customers on IBA aggregate specs, applications (e.g., road construction, sub-base, hydraulic bound mixtures, and bulk fills), and performance standards.
• Champion Sustainability: Work with regulatory bodies, environmental agencies, and local authorities to promote green benefits and support trials/approvals.
• Collaborate & Deliver: Partner with internal production and logistics teams to ensure reliable delivery and align sales strategies with supply capabilities.
