Job summary

Change Grow Live in Barnet is seeking a Recovery Worker - Programmes Group to deliver engaging recovery groups and structured interventions, supporting service users through treatment and recovery. The role blends direct client work with designing and enhancing recovery programmes, including delivering Atlas sessions.

Qualifications

• Understanding of substance misuse, recovery and harm reduction approaches.
• Experience in drug and alcohol services, healthcare or social care.
• Experience facilitating groups and managing group dynamics.
• Knowledge of motivational interviewing and psychosocial interventions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to build therapeutic relationships with diverse people.
• Experience collaborating in multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Provide unwavering support to service users from initial contact through treatment and recovery.
• Implement tailored interventions reducing harm from opiate use via groups or one-on-one.
• Facilitate the Atlas programme.
• Ensure a comprehensive recovery-focused plan including pre-detox and post-care support.
• Research/design materials for groups/pods.
• Lead debriefings and evaluations with co-facilitators after groups.
• Lead graduation events for programme completers.
• Review feedback and adjust as needed.
• Tailor workshops to needs (anger, sleep, relationships).
• Secure community venues as needed.
