Job summary

Change Grow Live in Gravesend is recruiting a Recovery Worker to assess and engage with service users, ensuring access to the right intervention. You’ll work as part of the recovery team in Gravesend, supporting people with drug and alcohol issues and promoting recovery and social reintegration.

The role requires experience in substance misuse settings, strong group facilitation skills, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of substance misuse issues.
• Experience of working with groups/pods and managing group dynamics.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with good IT skills.
• Proactive and able to work on own initiative with good time management.
• Good working knowledge of mental health interventions and services.
• Able to collaborate with a wide range of professionals and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support service users from entry into the service and through their treatment/recovery journey.
• Provide screening, assessment, and recovery planning and onward referral.
• Reduce drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community.
• Promote carer, service user and community involvement.
• Advocate for access to partnership services.
• Work with service users to support social reintegration and recovery.
• Research, design and prepare materials for groups/pods.
• Deliver structured content within group settings to service users at various stages of recovery.
• Engage in debriefing and evaluations with co-facilitators after groups/pods.
• Tailor workshops to service users' needs (e.g., anger management, sleep disorders).
