Job summary

Change Grow Live in Barnet is seeking a Recovery Worker - Programmes Group to deliver engaging recovery groups and workshops, support service users throughout their treatment and recovery journey, and help design enhanced recovery programmes.

You will facilitate the Atlas programme, tailor workshops (anger management, sleep, relationships) and work within multidisciplinary teams while upholding safeguarding and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of substance misuse and harm reduction.
• Experience in drug and alcohol services or related field.
• Experience facilitating groups and managing group dynamics.
• Knowledge of motivational interviewing and psychosocial interventions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to build therapeutic relationships with diverse people.
• Experience collaborating in multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Provide unwavering support to service users from initial contact through treatment and recovery journey.
• Implement tailored interventions to reduce harm from opiate use, via group sessions or one-on-one engagement.
• Facilitation of the Atlas programme.
• Ensure a comprehensive recovery-focused plan including pre-detox and post-care support.
• Research, design and prepare materials for groups/pods.
• Debriefing and evaluations with co-facilitator after groups/pods.
• Lead graduation events for service users who complete the programme.
• Review feedback and adjust as needed.
• Tailor workshops to needs (anger management, sleep disorders, relationships, etc.).
• Research and confirm community venues as needed.
