Job summary

Waythrough in South Shields is seeking a Recovery Coordinator to provide collaborative recovery planning and case management for individuals addressing drug and alcohol use, across all stages of recovery.

You will manage a caseload, work with a multidisciplinary team, complete risk assessments, and help families engage in the recovery journey. The role is permanent, based at Cookson House with standard hours.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of harm reduction approaches in relation to substance misuse.
• Understanding of and ability to implement interventions, including brief interventions MI, PSIs, CBT and ITEP.
• Carrying out assessment and recovery planning and risk management plans.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage a caseload of service users, reviewing and updating ongoing processes such as risk assessments and safeguarding plans.
• Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team and external colleagues, providing information to managers through reviews and meetings.
• Improve outcomes for families by reducing the impact of substance misuse on family life and promoting involvement in recovery.
• Develop and deliver quality programmes and psychosocial interventions meeting local needs in group and one-to-one formats.
• Identify and prevent potential harm by following safeguarding guidelines and engaging with safeguarding authorities.
• Support delivery of service functions through drug screening, duty work, BBV testing, immunisation and needle exchange services.
