Job summary

NHS Professionals is seeking a Receptionist/Admin Assistant at Sleepers' Hill, Hampshire. You will support front-line staff and service users, handle visitors, phones, emails, and filing, and maintain confidentiality while learning NHS processes.

This temporary role offers a £12.92 hourly rate, flexibly covering reception duties, calendar management, mail handling, and coordination with teams across the building. Training provided; potential extension beyond March 2027.

Qualifications

  • Face-to-face and telephone customer service experience.
  • Administration background is desirable but training will be provided.
  • System knowledge – MS Office package.

Job Title: Receptionist/ Admin Assistant

Location: Sleepers' Hill, Hampshire, GB, SO22 5

Type: Temporary

Start Date: Beginning of November 2026

End Date: Beginning of March 2027 but could be extended

Hourly Rate: 12.92

Job Summary

As a Receptionist/Admin Assistant, you will be expected to work as part of a wider administration service supporting front line staff, service users, carers, and always maintain confidentiality. You'll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

  • An in-depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
  • Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
  • A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcoming visitors and outpatients to the building.
  • Answering telephone calls and forwarding messages in a timely manner.
  • Answering emails, forwarding messages in a timely manner.
  • Singing out/in keys, fobs, and alarms for visitors/temporary staff members.
  • Filing, printing, laminating, and copying.
  • Raising and tracking purchase orders for teams across the building.
  • Raising orders for the Kitchen team.
  • Filing patient documents, sending to archive.
  • Patient data input (notes, document scans).
  • Ensuring effective communication with all outside agencies, clients/carers, and staff.
  • Work flexibly with other admin colleagues to ensure that the workload and pressures are dealt with appropriately.
  • Managing Reception calendar appointments and scheduling.
  • Handling mail and deliveries (receiving, sorting, and distributing incoming mail, handling outgoing mail or packages as needed).
Skills and Experience
  • Face-to-face and telephone customer service
  • Administration background is desirable but not needed. All needed training will be provided.
