Job summary

Freedom Leisure in England invites applications for a Reception & Café Assistant. You will be the first point of contact at reception and deliver excellent service in our café, greeting customers warmly and supporting transactions with accuracy.

The role blends front-of-house duties with barista-style beverage service in a busy, friendly environment. Training is provided, and a flexible rota supports work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer-facing role in leisure, fitness or community settings is desirable.
• Comfortable using till systems and handling cash/card payments.
• Barista experience is desirable but training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Welcome visitors with a smile in reception.
• Handle enquiries, bookings and memberships face-to-face, online and by phone.
• Operate booking, till and membership systems.
• Provide up-to-date information on facilities, classes and promotions.
• Maintain a tidy reception area with high presentation standards.
• Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks in café.
• Offer light snacks and pre-packaged items.
• Ensure food hygiene and health and safety standards.
• Replenish café stock and keep spaces clean.
• Work as part of a collaborative team and support events.
