You will lead, develop and support the reception and ward administration teams, manage rotas and staffing, support recruitment and training, and drive service excellence in line with Spire's values and patient care

  • Experience leading reception and ward administration teams.

  • Conduct departmental audits including DSE, health and safety training.
  • Represent department at meetings and drive improvements.
  • Maintain good communication with other hospital departments.

Reception and Ward Admin Team Leader | Spire Parkway Hospital | Competitive salary + Excellent Benefits | Full Time (37.5hrs) | Solihull, Birmingham Spire Parkway Hospital have an exciting new vacancy for an experienced Reception and Ward Admin team leader to join the team on a full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to lead our reception and ward administration function, ensuring a high-quality service is delivered to patients, visitors, consultants, and colleagues. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the reception and ward administration teams, driving service excellence, and supporting the delivery of outstanding patient care. Spire Parkway Hospital in Solihull, West Midlands offers a comprehensive range of private hospital services. Our hospital is rated Good by the CQC for all parts of the inspection except for Patient Care, which is rated Outstanding. The report states, "Staff treated patients with compassion and kindness, respected their privacy and dignity, took account of their individual needs, and helped them understand their conditions. They provided emotional support to patients, families and carers." Our dedicated hospital team are passionate about excellent patient care and we offer a range of specialist treatments to patients across Birmingham, Warwickshire and the West Midlands. This includes diagnostic services, rehabilitation, cutting-edge surgical procedures and excellence in specialist fields like orthopaedics, women's health and cancer care. We have 51 bedrooms and five operating theatres. Duties & Responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Lead, and develop the Reception and Ward Administration teams.
  • Working varied reception shifts in a hands- on capacity, supporting and overseeing the team
  • Promotion of Spire's Purpose, vision, mission, values and behaviours
  • Managing time cards, sickness, annual leave, and other absence whilst ensuring optimum cover at all times.
  • Preparation of rotas, flexing staff in line with business requirements and within budgetary targets.
  • Setting annual EE objectives for each team member, holding and documenting regular 1:1 meetings as well as team briefs
  • Actively involved in recruitment, training and induction
  • Achieving KPI targets as set by central Spire
  • To carry out departmental audits and ensure compliance, including DSE, Health and safety and staff mandatory training.
  • To undertake Datix incident investigations
  • To represent the department at various meetings, including Patient Experience, driving improvements and implementing change
  • Actively participating in the promotion of good communication and liaison with other hospital departments.
  • Undertake all work in accordance with company hospital policies and procedures. Ensuring familiarity with the Health and Safety at Work Act, including manual handling and fire procedures.
  • To maintain confidentiality of all information in line with GDPR regulations with regard to patients, consultants and staff
  • To ensure the reception environment projects a professional, smart image at all times including staff adherence to hospital uniform policy
  • To try to resolve any patient complaints relating to the reception service in the first instance or to escape via the appropriate channel.
    You must have previous reception experience
  • Excellent numeracy, literacy and IT Skills
  • Minimum 2 years leadership experience in a highly customer service focussed role
  • Proven people management experience within a medium sized team
  • Outstanding customer care skills with the ability to handle difficult situations
  • Emotional resilience, able to hold difficult conversations
  • The ability to manage change
  • Someone who can drive customer service
  • Excellent communication skills, organised and can showcase excellent patient care.
