Job summary

Medacs Healthcare is recruiting a locum Anaesthetic Nurse to support Weston General Hospital. You will join a multi-disciplinary anaesthetic team, delivering safe care across surgical specialties and supporting equipment and drugs crucial to anaesthesia.

Qualifications

• UK-based Operating Theatre experience (minimum 6 months).
• HCPC or NMC registration (RGN/ODP) is required.
• Immediate Life Support (ILS) / Paediatric ILS is desirable.
• Mentoring or teaching qualification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and delivery of anaesthetic procedures.
• Prepare a wide range of equipment and drugs for anaesthesia.
• Monitor patients throughout the anaesthetic process.
• Respond quickly to changes or complications during anaesthesia.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be part of a multi-skilled anaesthetic team delivering safe, high-quality care across a range of surgical specialties, including:

• Head & Neck
• Obstetrics & Gynaecology
• General Surgery
• Urology
• Vascular

You’ll will be:

• responsible for assisting in the preparation and delivery of anaesthetic procedures for patients undergoing surgery
• supporting the team to prepare a wide range of specialist equipment and drugs, including anaesthetic machines, intravenous equipment and devices that safely secure the patient’s airway during anesthesia
• responsible for monitoring patients throughout the anaesthetic process
• responding quickly to any changes or complications that may arise

What You’ll Need

• HCPC or NMC Registration (RGN/ODP)
• Minimum of 6 months UK based Operating Theatre experience
• Right to work in the UK (No visa sponsorship is available for this role)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
