Job summary

Medacs Healthcare is recruiting locum Anaesthetic Nurses to support Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. This role offers flexible weekday shifts within a dynamic theatre environment, with agency bookings across multiple specialties.

You will join a skilled anaesthetic team, assist in preparation and delivery of anaesthetic care, monitor patients, and help ensure patient safety. UK HCPC/NMC registration and minimum 6 months ODP/ANA theatre experience are required.

Qualifications

• HCPC or NMC registration (RGN/ODP) is required.
• Minimum 6 months UK operating theatre experience.
• Right to work in the UK with no sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and delivery of anaesthetic procedures.
• Prepare equipment and drugs including anaesthetic machines and airway devices.
• Monitor patients throughout the anaesthetic process and respond to changes.

What You'll Be Doing

You’ll be part of a multi-skilled anaesthetic team delivering safe, high-quality care across a range of surgical specialties, including:

• Head & Neck
• Obstetrics & Gynaecology
• General Surgery
• Urology
• Vascular

You’ll will be:

• responsible for assisting in the preparation and delivery of anaesthetic procedures for patients undergoing surgery
• supporting the team to prepare a wide range of specialist equipment and drugs, including anaesthetic machines, intravenous equipment and devices that safely secure the patient's airway during anesthesia
• responsible for monitoring patients throughout the anaesthetic process
• responding quickly to any changes or complications that may arise

What You'll Need

• HCPC or NMC Registration (RGN/ODP)
• Minimum of 6 months UK based Operating Theatre experience
• Right to work in the UK (No visa sponsorship is available for this role)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Immediate Life Support (ILS) / Paediatric ILS
• Mentoring or teaching qualification
