Job summary

Medacs Healthcare is recruiting locum Anaesthetic Nurses to support Southend University Hospital, offering flexible weekday shifts and various blocks. You’ll work within a multi-disciplinary theatre team delivering safe, high-quality anaesthetic care.

Required HCPC or NMC registration, UK theatre experience, and the right to work in the UK. Medacs provides fast-track registration, onboarding support, and ongoing compliance assistance.

Qualifications

• HCPC or NMC Registration (RGN/ODP)
• Minimum of 6 months UK based Operating Theatre experience
• Right to work in the UK (No visa sponsorship)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Immediate Life Support (ILS) / Paediatric ILS
• Mentoring or teaching qualification

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the preparation and delivery of anaesthetic procedures for patients undergoing surgery
• Supporting the team to prepare equipment and drugs, including anaesthetic machines, IV equipment and airway devices
• Monitoring patients throughout the anaesthetic process
• Responding quickly to changes or complications that may arise

What You'll Be Doing

You’ll be part of a multi-skilled anaesthetic team delivering safe, high-quality care across a range of surgical specialties, including:

• Head & Neck
• Obstetrics & Gynaecology
• General Surgery
• Urology
• Vascular

You’ll will be:

• responsible for assisting in the preparation and delivery of anaesthetic procedures for patients undergoing surgery
• supporting the team to prepare a wide range of specialist equipment and drugs, including anaesthetic machines, intravenous equipment and devices that safely secure the patient's airway during anesthesia
• responsible for monitoring patients throughout the anaesthetic process
• responding quickly to any changes or complications that may arise

What You'll Need

• HCPC or NMC Registration (RGN/ODP)
• Minimum of 6 months UK based Operating Theatre experience
