Job summary

Luma Education Recruitment is hiring an English Teacher to work within a specialist SEND setting in Towcester, Northamptonshire. You will deliver English and Functional Skills lessons to pupils with diverse needs, aiming to improve literacy, reading, writing and communication skills while supporting individual learning goals.

The role requires experience with SEND, ability to differentiate instruction, and a calm, patient teaching style.

Qualifications

• QTS or an appropriate teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching English, Functional Skills English or literacy.
• Previous experience working with SEND / SEN pupils.
• The ability to differentiate and personalise learning.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• A calm, patient and adaptable teaching style.
• Experience within a special school, SEND provision, SEMH setting or alternative provision would be advantageous.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one

Luma Education Recruitment is seeking an enthusiastic English Teacher to work within a specialist SEND setting in Towcester, Northamptonshire.

This role would suit an experienced English Teacher, Functional Skills English Teacher or SEN Teacher who enjoys working with young people who benefit from smaller classes, personalised teaching and a more flexible approach to education.

You will teach English and Functional Skills English, helping pupils strengthen their literacy, reading, writing and communication skills while working towards individual learning goals and qualifications.

About the Role

As an English Teacher within the school, you will deliver engaging lessons that are adapted to the needs and abilities of individual pupils.

The successful candidate will be confident working with pupils with a range of SEND needs and will be able to create structured, accessible lessons that encourage participation, confidence and progress.

Your responsibilities will include:

What We're Looking For

We are interested in hearing from teachers who have a strong background in English, literacy or Functional Skills and are passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs.
