Job summary

Hunter Selection Limited is seeking an electrically biased Shift Engineer for our flagship UK site in March.

You'll carry out preventive maintenance, reactive maintenance and CI projects across production and packaging machinery, with a focus on PLC fault finding and electrical control systems.

Ideal candidates will have Level 3 electrical qualification and experience in fast-paced manufacturing, with good problem-solving and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Experienced electrical biased engineer or industrial electrician.
• Level 3 electrical qualification or higher.
• PLC fault finding skills.
• Experience in fast-paced manufacturing.
• Able to read electrical and pneumatic schematics.
• Strong team player with initiative.
• Experience with high-speed production, packaging machinery.

Responsibilities

• Carry out PPMs, reactive maintenance and continuous improvement projects.
• Industrial electrical fault finding and minor mechanical repairs.
• Support reliability engineering to improve efficiency.
• Work on production and packaging machinery, conveyors, automation and control systems.
• PLC - electrical fault finding.
• Use and regularly update CMMS systems.
• Deal with motors, sensors, servo drives, control panels, inverters, and drives.

Would you like to work for a growing local business, that has the job security of being part of a multi-billion-pound global manufacturer, at their flagship UK site.

Due to a recent promotion, they are looking for an electrically biased shift engineer to join their team.

As a Shift Engineer your key role & responsibilities will be:

• Carry out PPM's, reactive maintenance & continuous improvement projects
• Industrial electrical fault finding & problem solving, along with minor mechanical repairs
• Support reliability engineering, looking to make things run more efficiently
• Working on various production & packaging machinery, conveyors, automation & control systems
• PLC - electrical fault finding
• Use and regularly update the CMMS systems
• Dealing with industrial equipment, motors, sensors, servo drives, proximity systems, control panels, inverters, contactors, gearboxes, drives, pneumatics, hydraulics

Knowledge, skills & experience need to be a Shift Engineer:

• Must be an experienced electrical biased engineer or industrial electrician
• Level 3 qualified or higher in electrical engineering - apprenticeship trained
• PLC - electrical fault finding skills
• Must have worked in fast-paced manufacturing previously
• Willingness to learn new things and suggest improvements
• Must be able to read & follow electrical & pneumatic schematics & drawings
• Team player, but able to work on own initiative when needed
• Previously have worked on high-speed production, processing & packaging machinery
