Job summary

Hunter Selection Limited are recruiting a shift engineer for a fast-moving FMCG manufacturing site in the UK. You will perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on high-speed packaging machinery, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs and SCADA systems to minimise downtime.

The role requires electrical/mechanical problem solving, multi-skilling, and experience with motors, VSDs and pneumatics. On-site work with progressive benefits and shift patterns offered.

Qualifications

• Must have worked in fast-paced FMCG/food manufacturing.
• Strong electrical and mechanical problem-solving skills are required.
• Experience with PLCs, automation and control systems, HMi interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative, predictive and breakdown maintenance on high-speed production and packaging machinery.
• Work on control panels, HMIs, PLCs and SCADA systems.
• Electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs.
• Deal with motors, VSDs, servo drives, pneumatics and gearboxes.
• Perform mechanical fabrication, fitting and welding.

Do you want to work for a leading food manufacturers that is going through a lot of progressive growth with the UK's supermarkets. Due to expansion within the team, they are looking for shift engineers to join.

Role & responsibilities of a Shift Engineer:

• Carry out planned preventative, predictive and breakdown maintenance of all high-speed production & packaging machinery
• Working on control panels, HMi's, PLC's, SCADA Systems
• Electrical & mechanical fault finding, problem solving and repairs
• Dealing with motors, VSD's, servo drives, pneumatics, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, inverters
• Mechanical fabrication, fitting, welding

Knowledge, skills & experience need to be a Shift Engineer:

• Multi skilled engineer - ideally electrically biased
• NVQ Level 3 engineering or maintenance minimum
• Ideally HNC / HND qualified - time-served-apprenticeship
• Must have worked in some form of fast-paced / Food / FMCG manufacturing industry
• Strong electrical & mechanical problem solving skills
• Knowledge of PLC's, automation & control systems, HMi's
• Worked on motors, inverters, VSD's, sensors, switches, pneumatics, gearboxes
