Job summary

Sedgemoor Manor School is recruiting a Maintenance Assistant to join the on-site maintenance team. You will handle reactive day-to-day maintenance across the school and its grounds, ensuring safe and well‑maintained facilities.

You will also support other homes in the community, liaise with contractors when on site, and respond to ad-hoc requests from management. A proactive, DIY mindset and reliable work ethic are essential.

  • Organised, adaptable and thorough in approach.

Job description

Sedgemoor Manor School are recruiting for a Maintenance Assistant to join their maintenance team. Sedgemoor Manor is a specialist day school for young people who have needs associated with a diagnosis on the autistic spectrum/SPLD and are aged between 7 and 19 years. Our tailored approach means we can support young people with a wide range of learning difficulties. The following skills would be of benefit to the role:

Previous experience in a maintenance position

A good knowledge of COSHH and health and safety in the workplace, however training will be provided

You will be organised, adaptable and thorough in your approach to work

Ideally, you will have experience in some of the following areas: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, plastering (qualifications are not essential).
