Job summary

Witherslack Group in Tonbridge is seeking a maintenance worker to help keep our Hilden Park school in great shape. You’ll handle general repairs, drive the school vehicles, and look after the grounds and gardens, creating a safe, welcoming environment for our pupils.

As part of our team you’ll receive a full induction, 35 days holiday including bank holidays, flexible benefits and wellbeing support, plus DBS safeguarding training and a supportive, values‑driven workplace.

Qualifications

• Have some maintenance skills, either professionally or as a DIY enthusiast.
• Be a team player with a can-do attitude and willingness to help others.
• Be willing to undertake Health & Safety and other relevant training.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general, day-to-day repairs to keep the school running smoothly.
• Drive school vehicles and keep them in good working order.
• Maintain school grounds and gardens to look neat and tidy.

Being a maintenance worker in our school means being part of something big. You'll be doing your bit to make sure the school building is a great place to be for our young people.

Get out what you put in

You’ll do all the general, day-to-day repairs needed to keep our school up and running, drive the school vehicles and keep them in good working order, as well as making sure the school grounds and garden are kept neat and tidy. You’ll also be a familiar, friendly face, this means our young people will sometimes stop to chat to you so we’ll give you some training on child safeguarding to give you that extra confidence!

Hilden Park school is a purpose built, brand new, state of the art school, catering primarily for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Asperger's and Speech, Language and Communication needs. The school provides education for up to 72 children aged 8 to 16. This new exciting opportunity serving Tonbridge and the wider communities; you can be at the heart of its development.
