Job summary

Aspris Ridgeway School is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to perform reactive day‑to‑day maintenance on site and grounds at our brand‑new autism-focused school. You will work with experienced maintenance colleagues and support duties across the campus, with opportunities to progress to a Maintenance Manager role as the school grows.

You will liaise with contractors, handle ad‑hoc requests from leadership, and contribute to maintaining a safe, well‑run environment for students and staff.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a maintenance position or similar role.
  • Knowledge of COSHH and health and safety in the workplace; training will be provided.
  • Be organised, adaptable and thorough in your approach to work.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out reactive day‑to‑day maintenance issues within the site and grounds.
  • Liaise with contractors when on site and manage ad‑hoc requests from management.
  • Support other homes in the community as required.

Here at Aspris, we are proud to be a leading provider of specialist education services with over 30 schools nationwide. We are recruiting for a Maintenance Assistant to join us at our brand‑new school for autistic children and young people, which opened in September 2025. You will receive a full induction, along with ongoing support from experienced maintenance colleagues across Aspris. As the school continues to grow, there may also be opportunities to progress into a Maintenance Manager role.

We are looking for a passionate handyperson and an enthusiastic DIYer, who will carry out reactive day‑to‑day maintenance issues within the site and their grounds. You will also assist in supporting our other homes in the community, liaising with contractors when on site and ad‑hoc requests from management as and when necessary.
