Salary: £46,148 - £52,809 Per annum pro rata. 4.5% in addition to salary for Tactical on call

This multifaceted role will co-ordinate and manage operational support across designated geographical areas. A key responsibility will be the efficient and effective delivery of operational services, acting as a single point of contact between front line operations and a range of service support departments. The role will entail the day to day management of activities, as well as future forecasting and planning, so contributing to ensure performance and service delivery are achieved and maintained. This role will have a direct impact on the Trust’s capacity to respond to patient care.

The Operational Services Support Manager will also be required to undertake the role of Tactical Commander across a wider geographic area. They will also have full line management responsibility for a team of A&E administration support staff, who in turn work to support business activity in the area. Collaboration and partnership working with colleagues from across the Trust will be paramount, along with building relationships across the designated area in order to maximise efficiency, cost improvements and overall performance. The need to prioritise workload will be paramount in order to achieve agreed objectives.

• Act as a single point of contact between frontline operations and support departments, including, but not limited to, fleet and logistics,
• security and risk, procurement and estates, to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of service provision.
• Full line management responsibility for locality A&E administration support team within the specific area.
• Undertake the role of a Tactical Commander in the event of a major, critical or untoward incident or other functional role as necessary.
• Coordinate on day fleet requirements to ensure sufficient levels are available at locations across the area of responsibility.
• Coordinate the reporting and management of equipment faults so as to allow timely resolution.
• Work with Team Leaders and Area Operations Managers to ensure compliance with CQC standards for areas of responsibility.
• Ensure any recommendations/actions identified by audits are implemented in a timely manner.
• Compile and maintain an up to date local risk register for the area of responsibility.
• Responsible for the stock control of equipment, uniform and consumables at locations within their area of responsibility and escalating
• and resolving issues with the appropriate department.
• Accountable for the supplies budget of the area including monitoring of fuel spend.
• Ensure appropriate utilisation and efficiency of resources, identifying improvement initiatives where possible.
• Monitor performance and ensure achievement of key performance indicators in relation to cost and availability of resources.
• Provide cross cover for other Operational Services Support Managers across the Yorkshire and Humber region as and when required.
• Lead on the compliance and monitoring of Health, Safety and Security regulations.

• Act as a central point of contact for the coordination of investigations involving any aspect of estates and/or fleet.
• Work with emergency preparedness and special operations to ensure specialist vehicles are prepared and ready to deploy.
• Able to drive Trust vehicles requiring a C1 driving licence.
• Manage the service and delivery provided by other operational support functions.
• Adhere to Trust policies and procedures and where appropriate suggest service improvement and cost reduction strategies.
• Ensure contractors are able to work safely on site.
• Maintain own CPD and attend any necessary training and refreshers when required.

• £57,528 - £64,750 Per annum. Unsocial hours and on call payment
