National breakdown company is seeking a Roadside Technician (field based) in Bridgwater to provide roadside assistance to members. 40-hour weeks with early shifts; overtime opportunities and a bonus scheme are offered.

All hours start from home before heading to the van, with pay structures including x1.5 overtime and fixed overtime options. The role requires Level 2 (preferred Level 3) in light vehicle maintenance and repair, plus a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience and a valid

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles in workshop or mobile role.
• Full UK driving licence - max 6 points, no bans.

Responsibilities

• Attend roadside breakdowns and assess faults quickly and accurately.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs at roadside (battery changes, wheel changes, minor engine fixes).
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
• Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn’t possible to ensure mobility.
• Advise members on next steps, including recovery if needed.

Job description

Roadside Technician (Field based) providing roadside assistance for a national breakdown company with over 15 million members. Great salary, benefits, overtime and bonus opportunities.

Location: Bridgwater

Shift and schedule for the Roadside Technician role

40 hours per week between 6am and 12pm, Monday to Sunday. Shifts known 4 months in advance. Flexi overtime at x1.5 and / or optional fixed overtime at £30 per hour. All hours start and stop from home, as soon as you start the van.

Job Responsibilities for the Roadside Technician role

What you’ll need to a be considered for the Roadside Technician role

• Must have a minimum of Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair or ideally Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent)
• Must have a minimum 2-year post-qualification hands on experience with vehicles. Either in a workshop or mobile vehicle type role.
