Job summary

Octane Recruitment is seeking a Roadside Technician based in Leeds for a national breakdown company. The role is full-time with 40 hours per week, shifts from 6am to 12pm, across seven days. You will perform roadside mechanical and electrical repairs, assist members, and coordinate recoveries when needed.

The position offers a base salary of £36,400 with uncapped OTE up to £60,000, overtime opportunities, and a comprehensive benefits package. Right to work in the UK is required.

Qualifications

• Customer-focused approach required.
• 2+ years post-qualification hands-on vehicle experience desirable.
• Full UK driving licence (max 6 points, no bans).

Responsibilities

• Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults quickly and accurately.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical roadside repairs (battery changes, wheel changes, minor engine fixes).
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
• Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn’t possible to maintain member mobility.
• Advise members on next steps, including recovery if needed.
• Work safely and efficiently in varied environments and conditions.

Pay / salary:£36,400 OTE: £60,000 (Uncapped)

Shift and schedulefor the Roadside Technician role

40 hours per week between 6am and 12pm, Monday to Sunday. Shifts known 4 months in advance. Flexi overtime at x1.5 and / or optional fixed overtime at £30 per hour. All hours start and stop from home, as soon as you start the van.

What you'll need to a be considered for the Roadside Technician role

• Must have a minimum of Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair or ideally Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent)
• Must have a minimum 2-year post-qualification hands on experience with vehicles. Either in a workshop or mobile vehicle type role.
