Job summary

Roadside Technician (Field based) is responsible for attending roadside breakdowns, diagnosing faults, and performing mechanical and electrical repairs to keep members mobile. The role operates across a national breakdown company’s network, with a competitive salary and overtime opportunities.

Candidates should have Level 2/3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualifications, at least 2 years post-qualification experience, and a full UK driving licence with up to 6 points.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 or Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualifications.
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles.
• Full UK driving licence - max 6 points, no bans.

Responsibilities

• Attend roadside breakdowns and assess faults quickly and accurately.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical roadside repairs (battery changes, wheel changes, minor engine fixes).
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
• Provide temporary solutions when full repair isnt possible to keep members mobile.
• Advise members clearly on next steps and recovery if needed.
• Work safely and efficiently in varied environments and conditions.

Job description

Roadside Technician (Field based) providing roadside assistance for a national breakdown company with over 15 million members. Great salary, benefits, overtime and bonus opportunities.

Must have right to work in the UK status.

Location: Cheltenham

Pay / salary: £36,400 OTE: Up to £61,000

Shift and schedule for the Roadside Technician role

40 hours per week between 6am and 12pm, Monday to Sunday. Shifts known 4 months in advance. Flexi and / or optional fixed overtime at £30 per hour. All hours start and stop from home, as soon as you start the van.

What youll need to a be considered for the Roadside Technician role

• Must have a minimum of Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair or ideally Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent)
• Must have a minimum 2-year post-qualification hands on experience with vehicles. Either in a workshop or mobile vehicle type role.
