Abingdon & Witney College in Bicester invites applications for a Senior Workshop Technician (Construction) to support practical learning across construction disciplines. The role is full-time, on-site at the Bicester campus with a pro rata annual salary of £28,598 to £30,384.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the lead technical specialist within the workshop, supporting teaching staff with practical delivery, materials and equipment selection.
  • Support and supervise students in developing their practical skills, ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment.
  • Plan and deliver technical demonstrations, inductions and equipment training for students and staff.
  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the workshop, including maintaining high standards of organisation and housekeeping.
  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, including risk assessments, COSHH and safe systems of work.
  • Manage tools, equipment and stock, including ordering materials, liaising with suppliers and conducting regular stock audits.
  • Assist with equipment maintenance, fault finding and arranging servicing where necessary.
