Job summary

The role of Construction Technician is based in Cambridgeshire, supporting practical teaching within our busy workshops. You will work with the teaching team to ensure classes run safely, smoothly, and efficiently.

This full-time, permanent position offers training and a comprehensive benefits package, including pension, leave, and on-site facilities.

Qualifications

• Hold relevant qualifications in a recognised construction trade.
• Demonstrable practical skills and extensive knowledge of construction tools, equipment, and materials.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Prior experience within a further education or training environment is desirable, but full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, set up, and dismantle tools, equipment, and materials for practical teaching sessions and demonstrations.
• Maintain, service, and repair workshop machinery and equipment to a high standard.
• Assist lecturing staff during practical student workshops and assessments.
• Oversee and maintain rigorous Health & Safety standards within all training areas.
• Manage workshop inventory and ensure resources are ready when needed.

The Role
