Job summary

Co-op Group in Manchester is seeking a Range Optimisation Manager to lead our Range Optimisation team, shaping range strategies across Customer, Commercial and Operations to deliver strong customer and commercial outcomes.

This 12-month fixed-term contract offers hybrid working, private healthcare, pension contributions up to 10%, and a comprehensive benefits package, with £60,000–£70,000 salary and annual bonus.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or developing others.
• Ability to build relationships and lead change across multiple stakeholder groups.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.
• Experience within category management, ranging, merchandising or similar.
• Strong commercial awareness balancing customer, operational and business priorities.
• Ability to remove barriers and navigate complexity to help teams make effective decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own our range guardrails and store clustering strategy; ensure delivery through range reviews.
• Drive the change needed to embed our range optimisation approach, principles and guardrails.
• Lead, coach and develop the Range Optimisation team, empowering them to deliver against strategic objectives.
• Liaise with customer and commercial teams to translate category strategies into optimised range assortments.
• Support projects, tests and trials to find new ways of improving ranges.
• Use data and insights to optimise tools and systems and get ranges into the right stores.
• Make sound commercial decisions to deliver the best outcomes for business, customers and members.
