Job summary

Colas Rail UK is seeking a Training and Competence Specialist to keep driver and operator competencies up to date and maintained to high standards. You will lead training requirements, manage records, and drive continuous improvement in rail service delivery.

You will work with the Senior Trainer Assessor to plan and execute training plans, assess performance, and report on risks to operational performance while upholding Colas Rail UK's values of Respect, Commitment, Pioneering and Sharing.

Qualifications

• Must be competent to RT3451 or at least 3 years practical driving experience.
• Trains on Network Rail running lines.
• Hold Train Driving Rules and Regulations Qualifications and competencies.
• Competent in Driving Duties.
• Qualified to undertake City and Guilds A1 assessments.
• Qualified in the City and Guilds 7331 training competency.

Responsibilities

• Manage training/assessment programme and keep driver files up to date.
• Respond to SPAD/incidents and produce reports including causes and recommendations.
• Provide regular reports on competence assessments and risks to operations.
• Carry out operational briefings as directed.
• Undertake competence assessments and training plans with Senior Trainer Assessor.
• Collaborate to ensure training requirements are met and records are auditable.
• Ensure training needs are met and communicate issues for action plans.
• Roster personnel for training and competency requirements.
• Drive trains when required.
• Perform on-call duties as required.
