Job summary

Loram Maintenance of Way, Inc. is seeking a Training & Competency Assessor to manage the competence and training programmes for Loram UK/EMEA, ensuring staff meet rail industry standards and client requirements.

You will develop and oversee systems, assess learners, provide feedback, and collaborate with HR and line managers to drive continuous improvement in training and compliance with ORR/RSSB standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ knowledge of rail fleets and technical understanding of fleet maintenance.
• Minimum 2 years’ knowledge and proven record of assessing work in a structured and auditable manner.
• Proficiency with Outlook, Teams, Microsoft Office; familiarity with competency management systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee the delivery of the competence management and learner management systems for Loram UK/EMEA in conjunction with the wider HR team.
• Assess learners and provide feedback demonstrating understanding of minimum requirements for competence.
• Implement and administer assessment and QA procedures across rail disciplines; support and develop learners.
• Drive and develop workforce training to meet business needs with continuous improvement.
• Identify training gaps and update training material to current rail standards.
