Job summary

CarmichaelUK is seeking a Rail Systems Discipline Lead to join our Routewide team in Milton Keynes. You will own the rail systems interface with the client across track, OCS, traction power, signalling and telecoms, asset management, system safety, interoperability and security.

You will chair client interface meetings, manage agreements, and lead the assessment of client-driven technical changes while coordinating with other disciplines to keep Design and Construction aligned with programme

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in technical rail systems roles on major projects.
• Chartered professional qualification (CEng MPWI or equivalent).
• Ability to lead a team and manage competing priorities.
• Experience managing commercial aspects with suppliers and clients.
• Strong communication skills across multiple levels.
• Driver's licence and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Chair client interface meetings across rail systems areas.
• Manage agreements for interfacing rail systems affecting designs and changes.
• Lead the assessment of client-driven technical change and maintain relationships with SMEs.
• Liaise with handover and completions teams to finalise rail systems aspects.
• Lead strategy for construction phase O&M manual production and interoperability tracking.
• Ensure threat and vulnerability risk assessments are updated for design changes.
