Job summary
VolkerFitzpatrick is seeking an experienced Section Engineer to join our Earthworks team based from the Gravesend office, supporting the Southern Renewals Enterprise (SRE) on railway infrastructure projects across Kent. You will take ownership of on-site delivery, lead engineering activities, manage interfaces with stakeholders and clients, and contribute to the long-term rail programme.
The role offers exposure to rail renewals, earthworks delivery, project controls, safety and quality
Qualifications
- Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent in Civil Engineering.
- Proven experience delivering civil infrastructure projects.
- Ability to interpret design information and resolve on-site issues.
- Full UK driving licence; CSCS card.
- Desirable rail or earthworks experience; knowledge of Network Rail standards.
- Working towards or holding ICE membership.
Responsibilities
- Lead on-site engineering activities and supervise site operations.
- Support delivery of railway infrastructure projects and renewals.
- Coordinate engineering team, plan construction and risk controls.
- Maintain client relationships and ensure safety, quality and environmental management.
