Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a CRE C or Senior Engineer with rail earthworks experience for projects across Kent and Sussex. The role focuses on engineering assurance, quality control and technical delivery, with hybrid working and regular site visits to live projects.

The successful candidate will oversee earthworks and related civil engineering tasks, potentially mentoring others while ensuring compliance with standards and approved designs. Offices in London or Kent balance site travel.

Qualifications

• Significant civil engineering site experience in rail/earthworks.
• Experience as CRE C or Senior Engineer, or capable of mentoring into CRE C.
• Strong understanding of engineering assurance, quality control and compliant delivery.

Responsibilities

• Act as CRE (Construction) where competent and signed off.
• Provide engineering assurance and quality control on site and by subs.
• Ensure works follow approved designs, specs and standards.
• Review Work Package Plans, risk assessments and engineering documentation.
• Oversee inspections, testing and handback records.
• Mentor Site Engineers and Section Engineers in technical development.
• Coordinate interfaces with designers, subcontractors and client reps.
