Job summary

VolkerFitzpatrick is seeking an ambitious Site Engineer to join the Southern Renewals Enterprise (SRE) on long-term rail infrastructure projects, based from our Gravesend office in Kent.

You will work within the Earthworks team, gaining hands-on experience on complex civil schemes while collaborating with engineers, project managers and specialists to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes for rail customers.

Qualifications

• Relevant civil engineering degree or equivalent.
• Rail experience beneficial but not essential.
• Understanding of construction and project delivery principles.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Commercial and business awareness.
• Proactive approach and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to major rail infrastructure and earthworks projects.
• Assist site management and project delivery responsibilities.
• Develop engineering and technical excellence on site.
• Support planning and construction methodologies.
