Job summary

South Western Railway (SWR) is seeking a Revenue Protection team member to ensure customers hold valid tickets and to support a high standard of customer experience on trains and at stations.

You will work as part of a team, often in pairs, visiting stations and on trains to check tickets, answer questions and resolve journey queries. You should be a self-motivated and calm communicator, ready for shifts at all times of day and week, including early and late shifts.

Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for making sure everyone you talk to in a day has the right ticket for their journey, which may include selling a ticket and deciding when to issue a Penalty Fare Notice or take other action.
• You will interact with customers at stations and on trains, checking tickets and answering queries about their journey.
• As you gain experience, you will become the font of knowledge about SWR journeys, destinations, attractions and London transport.
