Job summary

First Bus is seeking a Rail Replacement Coordinator (operational, field-based) to supervise and coordinate rail replacement buses, events and coach services in the Somerset area. The role emphasizes safety, passenger assistance and data collection, with a flexible annualised hours contract and weekend shifts.

Prior transport experience is desirable, and strong customer service is essential. You will join a team of ambassadors focused on safety, compliance and delivering reliable public transport

Qualifications

• Experience in the transport industry is desirable.
• Commitment to providing excellent customer service.
• Confident in engaging drivers on regulations (PSVAR/PSVAIR).
• Great communicator who is enthusiastic and approachable.
• Patient, reliable and calm when working under pressure.
• Confident working as a team and independently, using your own initiative.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shift times, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the safe and timely operation of rail replacement bus, events and coach services.
• Ensure safety of passengers, colleagues and the public; maintain high vehicle standards and conduct regulations auditing.
• Provide assistance and information to passengers and demonstrate high levels of customer service.
• Maintain data collection via coordination portal and support operational reporting.
