Job summary

Transportukbus in London requires a proactive Bus Service Coordinator to plan, coordinate and deliver rail replacement bus services across Greater London from Walworth Depot. You will ensure safety, efficiency and regulatory compliance while maintaining high service standards.

You will lead Rail Replacement Controllers, oversee real-time operations, and coordinate with TfL, Network Rail and TOCs to minimise disruption and optimise passenger experience.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in bus operations, ideally in rail replacement or high‑frequency services.
• Experience supervising operational teams.
• Strong understanding of headway management and disruption management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day‑to‑day delivery of rail replacement bus services.
• Ensure services operate to agreed schedules, routes and contractual obligations.
• Monitor real‑time performance including punctuality, reliability and headway management.
• Respond to service disruption and implement solutions to minimise passenger impact.
• Liaise with internal control teams and external stakeholders (TfL, Network Rail, TOCs).
• Lead and support a team of roadside Bus Controllers.
• Ensure Controllers are deployed at key locations and briefed during live operations.
• Provide coaching and maintain staffing levels at all times.
• Maintain communications with drivers and Controllers to ensure smooth service delivery.
• Ensure safe working practices and compliance with TfL requirements.
