Job summary

AmcoGiffen in Warrington seeks an experienced Contractors Engineering Manager to lead the engineering function across a portfolio of rail projects, ensuring safe, compliant delivery in line with Network Rail standards.

You will manage multi-disciplinary design teams, interface with ASPRO, and drive GRIP/PACE compliance while reviewing critical documents and managing risk throughout project lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Contractors Engineering Manager (CEM) within rail.
• Strong track record in multi-disciplinary rail civil engineering.
• Experience delivering AfA, stations, platforms and civils.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the engineering function across allocated projects.
• Oversee multi-disciplinary design delivery (internal & external).
• Act as the primary engineering interface with Network Rail Asset Protection (ASPRO).
• Ensure compliance with GRIP / PACE processes and Network Rail standards.
• Review and approve engineering documentation, including designs, methodologies and WPPs.
• Chair and participate in design and engineering reviews.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance across project teams.
• Ensure engineering risks are identified, mitigated, and managed throughout the lifecycle.
