Job summary

Arup is seeking an experienced Senior Rail Design Manager to lead the delivery of complex multidisciplinary rail projects across the UK, coordinating design services from feasibility through to construction support.

You will act as a Contractor's Engineering Manager (CEM) or equivalent, establishing engineering management and assurance approaches, and you will mentor and develop the next generation of Design Managers while building strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Have significant experience leading multidisciplinary rail design delivery across feasibility, scheme and detailed design stages, with responsibility for quality, programme and commercial outcomes.
• Chartered status and full corporate membership of a relevant professional engineering institution (e.g. ICE, IET, or CIHT).

Responsibilities

• Lead the coordination, integration and assurance of multidisciplinary design services across a portfolio of complex rail projects.
• Act as a Contractor's Engineering Manager (CEM) or equivalent, establishing engineering management and assurance approaches and ensuring technical excellence, compliance and collaboration.
• Lead design delivery from feasibility through to detailed design and construction support, managing interfaces, risk, change and assurance while focusing on programme, quality and commercial outcomes.

Education

Chartered status and corporate membership of a relevant professional engineering institution (ICE, IET, or CIHT)
