Job summary

Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) is recruiting a CCTV Operator based at the Rail Operating Centre in Three Bridges. The role uses CCTV to coordinate incident responses across the network, providing support to staff and customers while upholding safety and confidentiality.

You will work with security forces, emergency services and other stakeholders, maintain detailed records, conduct daily checks on cameras and ensure equipment functions in compliance with the CCTV code of practice.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of CCTV systems and how they operate.
• Ability to interact with staff and customers in a professional manner.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Experience coordinating incidents on a security or rail network preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attend duty on time and in a fit state to carry out duties.
• Coordinate response to incidents detected on the network.
• Utilise airwave radio for effective communication with security forces.
• Liaise with emergency services and provide updates to stakeholders.
• Maintain clear and accurate records.
• Operate CCTV cameras in compliance with the CCTV code of practice.
• Produce and maintain evidential material and witness statements for court.
• Maintain equipment functionality and report faults promptly.
