Job summary

York And Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Service Manager to lead the Radiology Team at Scarborough CDC. The role focuses on day-to-day operational management, working with Radiographers and Radiologists to deliver high-quality patient imaging services.

The successful candidate will have strong line management and communication skills, with the ability to delegate, prioritise, and motivate teams in a busy NHS environment.

Qualifications

• GCSEs and a degree or equivalent are required.
• Experience: at least 3 years in admin, including 1 year in staff management.
• Proven IT literacy to RSA3/NVQ3 level is expected.
• Ability to organise, prioritise, delegate and motivate others.
• Experience handling sensitive or complex situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily structured management support to ensure smooth running of the department’s services.
• Assist the Operational Manager with appointment systems and administrative functions.
• Support investigation and timely responses to patient complaints.
• Monitor patient pathways, activity and waiting lists to meet access targets.
• Develop Admin Coordinators and Team Leaders through training and coaching.
